Partneriaeth Ogwen

Ein bwriad fel Partneriaeth Ogwen yw herio’r sefyllfa yma o’r gwaelod i fyny gan edrych ar fodelau perchnogaeth gymunedol o dai gwyliau gyda'r bwriad o'u rhedeg fel enghreifftiau o arfer da yn nhermau twristiaeth gymunedol a chadw’r holl elw i’w ail-fuddsoddi mewn tai cymdeithasol yn lleol.

Mae Partneriaeth Ogwen yn arwain y darn yma o waith ar ran Dolan a bydd Meleri Davies a Cynan Jones yn rhoi cyflwyniad ar y gwaith hyd yma.

Our intention as the Partneriaeth Ogwen is to challenge this situation from the bottom up by looking at community ownership models of holiday homes with the intention of running them as examples of good practice in terms of community tourism and keeping all profits to re-invest in local social housing.

Partneriaeth Ogwen is leading this piece of work on behalf of Dolan and Meleri Davies and Cynan Jones will give a presentation on the work to date.

Llwybr Llechi

Cefais fy ngeni yn Gerlan, a fy magu yn Nhregarth; addysgais ym Methesda a threuliais wyliau gyda fy Nain ym Mlaenau Ffestiniog. Roeddwn i’n byw yng Nghwm Penmachno am nifer o flynyddoedd cyn symud i Gaeredin.

Treuliais fu mhlentyndod yn ymweld â Chwmorthin, ar Reilffordd Ffestiniog neu'n crwydro ar hyd Rheilffordd Penrhyn.

Ynghyd ag  archwilio mwyngloddiau a chwareli Cwm Penmachno, mae hyn yn golygu bod yr ardaloedd llechi yn agos iawn i fy nghalon.

Ar ôl cwblhau gradd Meistr mewn Datblygu Cymunedol yn fy ymddeoliad, arweiniodd cydnabyddiaeth o ddiboblogi'r pentrefi llechi, ynghyd â'r diffyg cyfleusterau a chyfleoedd cyflogaeth

i mi ddatblygu Llwybr Llechi Eryri

I was born in Gerlan, and raised in Tregarth; I taught in Bethesda and spent a holiday with my Gran in Blaenau Ffestiniog. I lived in Cwm Penmachno for many years before moving to Edinburgh.

I spent my childhood visiting Cwmorthin, on the Ffestiniog Railway or wandering along the Penrhyn Railway. Along with exploring the mines and quarries of Cwm Penmachno, this means that the slate areas are very close to my heart.

After completing a Masters degree in Community Development in my retirement, recognition of the depopulation of the slate villages, together with the lack of facilities and employment opportunities led

for me to develop the Snowdonia Slate Trail

Menter y Plu

Menter er budd y gymuned a gychwynnodd er mwyn achub Tafarn y Plu yw Menter y Plu. Ers prynu’r dafarn, mae’r fenter wedi symud i feysydd eraill drwy gynnig gweithgareddau cymunedol, creu gardd a rhandiroedd cymunedol, Beics Cymunedol. Mae’r fenter hefyd ar fin prynu Llety Gwyliau er mwyn hybu twristiaeth gymunedol a chadw’r economi leol mor hyfyw a fedrwn ni. O fewn y flwyddyn mi fydd hefyd llety hunangynhaliol i’w gael gan y fenter ynghyd a Gweithdy i weithiwr lleol.

Menter y Plu is a community benefit initiative set up to save the Tafarn y Plu. Since buying the pub, the initiative has moved to other areas by offering community activities, creating a community garden and allotments, Community Bikes. The initiative is also about to buy Holiday Accommodation to promote community tourism and keep the local economy as viable as we can. Within the year there will also be self-catering accommodation provided by the enterprise as well as a Workshop for a local worker.
